Meet Micro Boy, aka "Cruise"!
"Cruise" is a bay 4 year old Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred gelding born on April 5, 2009. He is by Wilko and out of Aqualina, he's also a grandson of Holy Bull. Stands at 15 hands and has a wonderful personality. He was born in Florida, raced once at the Tampa Bay track on 3/18/12, then raced five more times at the Charles Town racetrack in West Virginia. He placed third in the
second race of his career, and his first time racing at Charles Town. It seems like he is all sprint and no distance which is perfect for barrel racing, along with being built more like a Quarter horse and having a short stature of 15 hands. In his 6 start racing career he earned $1,995. The last race he ran was on 11/21/12. Amelia tried him out and purchased him for the ERRM on 3/31/13. She quickly decided to call him "Cruise", around the barn. See pictures and videos below throughout his training progress in the 100 days leading up to the ERRM competition on August 2, 2013!

Here's a couple videos of Cruise's training....
Amelia & Cruise had a WONDERFUL experience in Negley, Ohio competing in the first annual ERRM. It was an honor just to be chosen as one of 12 horse trainers in the nation to compete! They had the third fastest barrel time in the makeover (unfortunately they knocked their second barrel down, but overall it was a BEAUTIFUL pattern!), they scored a 6.5 out of 9 on the freestyle! Cruise handled the crowd and commotion very well and performed in the arena like he'd been doing it forever! We are very proud of how far he came in the short 100 days of retraining since leaving the race track, it goes to show what a good foundation does for ANY horse! The team placed 8th overall in the competition due to the knocked barrel (that cost them a 4th or 5th place finish!) however, we are still proud of how well Cruise did & the way we see it, knocking a barrel means they were going fast and tight enough around the pattern to risk it. If you know Amelia, you know she's the "all or nothing" type!
